Fieldwork
FieldworkNottingham's very own folk-fusion outfit, Fieldwork, developed a sound that spanned different cultures and backgrounds before the world/roots tag became fashionable, and from 1984-1992 they performed extensively throughout the UK. They are reforming to play a handful of gigs in May and June 2008.

Whilst some of their material is self-penned, a good deal is drawn from traditional sources, notably of the Chartist, political folk strand, and adapted to suit Fieldwork's contemporary sound and approach. Alongside guitar, fiddle and harmonium, they feature a battery of percussion, and occasionally other instruments such as mbira, tongue-drum, sitar and gopichand - lending an exotic touch to this innovative fusion of English, European and African influences.

'During the late eighties, their innovative approach won them a cult following on the English folk/roots scene' - York Press
'Fieldwork meld an engaging Eastern-European gypsy style with a refreshingly forward-looking sense of English folk history.' - Mojo Magazine
'One of the most innovative of today's folk groups' - Rock 'n Reel Magazine
