Additional acts (continued).

Simon Jackson
Simon JacksonSimon Jackson is a guitar virtuoso, singer, tunesmith, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose band Tangata was warmly received at Southwell last year. He is now concentrating mainly on solo work in folk clubs and festivals.

Expect some great guitar work, sensitive arrangements of some of folk’s best songs, his own quite personal, sometimes witty songs and some relaxed and silly banter. Simon will be performing solo and with fiddle player Beth Noble, another Tangata member who also plays in the band Wholesome Fish.

Winter Wilson
Winter WilsonAfter appearing at our first festival last year Kip (Winter) and Dave (Wilson) enjoyed themselves so much that they asked if they could come back. Since they are hugely talented and lovely people we were delighted. Expect to see them playing on the various stages at the site and in town, joining in the sessions, doing a bit of compering and generally having a good time.

Their original material, which they mix with a few well-chosen covers, is of the highest quality and is now being covered by other artists.

The Boothill Toetappers
The Boothill ToetappersNottingham’s only six-piece duo display incredible versatility and not a little musicianship, covering many different musical genres and styles.

Steve Bliss (who played solo at the Southwell festival last year) demonstrates his remarkable virtuosity, not to mention co-ordination, by playing the harmonica or singing, whilst simultaneously playing the guitar and tap-dancing.

Steve D plays fiddle (in a variety of styles, from folk, to jazz to rock and classical) he also plays the broom! "The what?" yes - the broom. It’s like a tea-chest bass without the tea chest. Not to be missed if you enjoy being entertained!
