Ceilidhs

Tickets for entrance to ceilidhs only can be purchased on the gate (subject to availability) or by cash payment and collection only from three Southwell pubs: The Hearty Goodfellow, The Bramley Apple and The Wheatsheaf. These are priced £10 (£5 youth). For more information phone 01636 816678.

Following the huge success of our previous events, we now have a much larger ceilidh tent. Ceilidhs will take place on the Festival Site on Friday night, Saturday Evening and Sunday morning. There will be a French style Bal on the Southwell Market Square on Sunday afternoon. Some ceilidhs will be well suited to families and children and we again feature several top ceilidh bands including:

The QP - 7 young, talented musicians playing a stunning blend of folk, jazz, funk, rock and blues. “It’s folk without a safety net”.
(Appearing Sunday morning - caller Liam Robinson)

The QP ceilidh band

Peeping Tom - “Veteran folk rock band with all the riffs and reels, combining traditional folk dance music with a modern high energy rhythmic approach to produce their own unique style”.
(Appearing Friday evening - caller Hugh Rippon)

The Old Swan Band - “Top ceilidh and barn dance band for over 20 years, playing both brilliant, stomping dance music and entrancing concert material”.
(Appearing Saturday evening on the festival site, then Sunday afternoon on he Market Square - caller Jo Freya)

The Minster Ceilidh Band will play in the Festival Bar on Friday evening at 5pm.
