Dance Sides.
In addition to the sides that will be dancing the Gate procession and joining us on Saturday afternoon we have organised several dance sides to perform at various locations in town, at the workhouse and on the site. A full timetable will be available in the festival programme.
The sides so far booked to appear include Abbots Bromley Horn Dancers, the oldest traditional dance in the country and rarely seen outside their village, Handsworth Sword from Sheffield, Feet First Appalachian Clog from Chesterfield, Witchmen, a border side based in Northants, Lord Conyers a mainly Cotswold men’s morris side from Rotherham and Mortimers Morris a ladies north west side from Nottingham.
