Stewards Wanted!

We anticipate needing up to 130 volunteer stewards to manage the event, not only during the event itself but also before and afterwards. You will need to be reliable, confident and enjoy working with others. You must be willing to work 4 hours per day. Above all you will be an ambassador for the Festival and a source of information for our visitors. In return you will receive a Stewards’ Pass which admits you to the main site all weekend.

What duties can I expect?

As a volunteer steward you can be involved in a variety of activities including site set-up and break-down, ticket checking, artist liaison, campsite, traffic control, venue management and litter picking. We ask you to take pride in your duties and meet the commitment of your shifts. If you are placed on a rota then we expect you to work it, be a good team member and enjoy the atmosphere.

How do I sign up?

Please read the full terms and conditions before filling in your application form.

Download an application form here and return it to our address here, or you can apply online by filling in the form below.

Terms and Conditions for Stewards

1. You must be at least 18 years of age on 11th June 2010.

2. All volunteers will receive a Stewards’ pass which admits to the main site all weekend. You will also receive a free souvenir programme and free camping.

We need to know well in advance if you are bringing a caravan or camper van as space is limited.

3. You must be willing to work 4 hours per day – unless you choose jobs with extra responsibilities. (Please see application form) Priority will be given to those who can arrive on Friday afternoon/early evening and who will still be available on Sunday evening. Friday from midday onwards is the busiest time.

4. Duties may fall at any time of the day or evening but not after 1am.

5. All volunteer stewards will work as part of a team with a team leader. There will be at least three main teams, details of which are on the application form. Please understand that it may not be possible to fully meet your requests for certain areas of duty and teams might also be rotated over the weekend. So, duties are allocated to your preferences where possible but no guarantees can be made.

6. Drinking alcohol whilst on duty is not permitted at anytime. Whilst on duty you should be free from the influences of alcohol.

7. Your priority as a volunteer steward is to help us to run the Festival. If your duties clash with events you would like to see, or to participate in, then this should be negotiated within your own team. It may not be possible to change rotas to suit all requests.

8. By mid/end May we will tell you which team you will belong to and who your team leader is together with an outline of responsibilities.

9. Due to insurance and health and safety considerations we are unable to accept anyone who wishes to keep their children with them whilst working.

10. For your own personal comfort please come prepared for possible adverse weather conditions: boots, waterproof clothing etc!!
