2011 Festival
Border Morris, North West Morris, Cotswold Morris, Longsword, Rapper Sword, Molly dancing - we saw them all at last year’s Festival around the town and on the open air DanceStage on the Festival Site
2011 Dance Procession through Southwell – Saturday morning 10.45 along King Street
Starting it all off – there was a wonderful Procession through the town at 10.45 on Saturday- followed by dancing in the town from 11am and from noon on the on the festival site.

We had Oyster Morris from Kent and Golden Star from Norwich dancing Cotswold Morris. Ouse Washes danced the Fenland Molly dances. The two sword dance sides Sallyport and Whip the Cat performed Rapper sword dancing from the North East of England. We also had the Northwest dancers Ripon City and Hoxon and the Border Morris side Poacher from Lincoln. Also from Lincoln werethe newly formed Bishops Morris with their Longsword dance. Of course we also had Nottinghamshire’s Rattlejag Morris with their own unique style based on traditions from our own local region. We also enjoyed Kick Start Appalachian dancers from Warwickshire.
Dance Spectacular
- Unfortunately the Dance Spectacular planned for the Sunday afternoon had to be abandoned due to rain.
